SuccessClick is a UK answer engine optimisation (AEO) and AI search optimisation agency for energy and cleantech technology companies — across renewables and storage, energy management and flexibility software (EMS, BEMS and building management systems), industrial and building energy, and energy compliance and audit. We make your business the source AI engines cite — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews — when technical buyers research who to trust, while keeping you visible in traditional Google search.
Most AEO agencies come at this from marketing. We come at it the other way round: from engineering, and from more than a decade inside the energy industry. That matters because AEO for technical energy topics is not a copywriting exercise. To be cited when a buyer asks which BMS supports open protocols, or how an EMS handles half-hourly settlement, the content has to be genuinely accurate. Most agencies can produce the schema; few can produce the substance.
We have not found another UK agency combining genuine energy-sector engineering fluency with answer engine optimisation. That focus is deliberate — and it is backed by a team, not a single person: specialist associates in sales, strategy, content and cybersecurity, supported by a dedicated production and distribution capability. Energy fluency is how we earn buyer trust; the team is how we deliver on it at scale.
Founded and led by an engineer, not a marketer
SuccessClick is led by an engineer, not a marketer. Martin founded the agency after more than a decade delivering inside the UK energy sector — the same industry his clients sell into.
His background is engineering: a BEng (Hons) in Energy Engineering and an MSc, followed by nine years of programme and project delivery across energy and utilities, in both the public and private sector.
That work spanned the full energy value chain. Martin has delivered with BP, British Gas, Centrica, EDF Energy, National Grid and SSE — across oil and gas, the system operator, generation, distribution, supply, commodities trading and data analytics.
Much of it was technical software delivery: B2B and B2C programmes covering regulatory change, legacy-system migration, growth and smart metering. He has worked on generation and energy forecasting, customer insight, personalised pricing and big-data energy trading.
This is why the agency exists in the shape it does. Answer engine optimisation for energy-technology firms only works if the answers are correct. Marketing-led agencies can mark up a page with schema; understanding the subject well enough to be worth citing is the harder part — and it is the part energy buyers can tell apart in seconds.
Martin leads every engagement personally, running the deep discovery that sets the strategy — then draws on a trusted specialist team so no single person is a bottleneck. He approaches AEO the way he approached energy programmes: define the system, instrument it, and improve what you can measure. Every engagement is scoped, baselined and reported against evidence, not vanity metrics.
